I-see Public Artworks

Commissions North and Tyne Wear Partnership have launched a new series of educational walking guides designed to encourage teachers and key stage 2 pupils (suggested age of 9-11) to discover and explore the wealth of public artworks within our region.

The guides have been developed to meet the needs of a mixed ability group and offer pupils an opportunity to learn about public artwork on a cross-curricular level. The guides are designed to fit within the national curriculum framework, details of which are included within the teachers pack, along with references and web links relating to the artists and artworks featured within each guide.

The printed guides are available through schools in Tyne and Wear. PDF versions of the guides and accompanying teachers' pack can be downloaded from the Publications section of this website.

The i-see public artwork walks have been developed by Commissions North (Arts Council England North East) with funding from Tyne Wear Partnership.
