Art on the Riverside: Fleet
Seven highly polished stainless steel sculptures of 19th century collier brigs were sited at the Market Dock. Irene Brown’s ‘Fleet’ took South Tyneside’s
historic ship symbol, which adorns the Town Hall, as a cultural icon for the new riverside.
