Project Blue: Departure Gate
Blue River Design worked in partnership with Arts and Business and Commissions North to transform derelict railway gates at its Newcastle offices by inviting artists to use them as a showcase for experimental new artworks. The gates have now become an exciting venue for temporary public arts commissions.
Simon Watkinson's illuminated areoplanes were visible from the East Coast Mainline adjacent to the Blue River offices.
