Initiated by a group of Haydon Bridge based artists JM New Views presented three new temporary commissions exploring the life and work of the nineteenth century painter John Martin, who was born in the village. The project was developed alongside other local community events celebrating the 150th anniversary of Martin’s death.
David Goard produced a series of composite digital posters which appeared daily outside the village’s two newsagents.
Julie Livsey’s video work was presented on a TV monitor in the local Co-op store.
Sian Bowen and Chris Brown’s video piece was installed in a private space in the Old Congregational Church.
