West Park
West Park is a major new housing development on the north west fringe of Darlington. The project includes a new public park, sports and community facilities, a school and a new Priority Services NHS Hospital.
WN Herbert was engaged as Lead Poet at an early stage in the scheme to create an arts strategy and public poetry plan for the development. Working with a range of visual artists the resulting texts will be carved, sculpted and built into integrated features across the site.
Sculptor David Paton worked with WN Herbert to create a sculptural centre piece and viewing point for the new public park.
