One NorthEast: Generation
Regional Development Agency One NorthEast has demonstrated its commitment to contemporary art by developing a programme of arts commissions by emerging artists at its Red Box-designed headquarters at Newburn Riverside.
‘Generation’ consists of three high quality sculptural forms which attract people's attention as they approach the building. Each head is created from different metals, each symbolising distinct eras of human and industrial production. They are linked to the theatrical sculptural group, 'Being Human', also by Joe Hillier, which is installed in the courtyard.
