English Heritage invited 12 of Britain’s most innovative and enigmatic fashion designers to respond to the magnificent neo-classical mansion Belsay Hall, it’s 14th century castle and grade 1 listed gardens, with art installations rather than garments.
The flagship exhibition, Fashion at Belsay (FAB) displayed their art throughout its vast empty rooms and landscaped grounds. Stella McCartney chose the Great Hall of the 14th century Belsay Castle to suspend her crystal horse installation.
