English Heritage invited 12 of Britain’s most innovative and enigmatic fashion designers to respond to the magnificent neo-classical mansion Belsay Hall, it’s 14th century castle and grade 1 listed gardens, with art installations rather than garments.
The flagship exhibition, Fashion at Belsay (FAB) displayed their art throughout its vast empty rooms and landscaped grounds.
Husband and wife team Suzanne Clements and Inacio Ribeiro are well established as an innovative and cutting edge fashion duo. Their vision was inspired by Belsay’s romantic Quarry gardens and they have worked with Simon Costin to produce a visually extraordinary work for FAB to stand outside in the depths of the Quarry Garden.
