Skybowl

Skybowl

The Skybowl is a design proposal which aims to make a major contribution to heritage and culture in Durham.

It is intended that the work, a giant steel bowl more than fifty feet in diameter, will be erected on top of an existing grassy hillock between County Hall and Durham City centre, becoming instantly recognisable from the A1 (M) motorway and the East Coast Main Line railway. Visitors would also be able to go inside the bowl where they would be enveloped by sky.
