Nocturne
The concept for 'Nocturne' is based on the natural rhythms of tidal movements on the River Tyne and the human and mechanical movement across the bridge. By utilising digital control technologies, a changing twenty year duration light and colour 'score' is played back and forth across the QE II Metro Bridge. The colours and patterns are based on picture messages sent in by the communities of Newcastle and Gateshead.
