Rothbury Community Hospital commissioned glass artist Claudia Phipps to create several new works to be situated throughout the building.
On entering the hospital, visitors are greeted by the 'Healing Herbs' window which includes drawings made by children, and examples of medicinal herbs pressed into clay and slumped in glass. The colour and overall design reflects the medieval field patterns that can still be seen in the landscape around Rothbury. There are also suspended mirrored panels, sandblasted with patterns of tree to create ever-changing patterns reflected through the hospitals corridors, as well as glass panels depicting characters from Northumberland Folklore.
