Science Learning Centre: Mesostic Laboratorium
In 2004 Durham University was selected to be part of a £51m initiative developed by the Department for Education and Skills and the Wellcome Trust to create a national network of Science Learning Centres.
'Mesostic Laboratorium' was a series of poetic workshops in partnership with the Science Learning Centre and Dr Tom Shakespeare at Durham's Framwellgate School. Alec Finlay conceived and realised the project which focused on composing mesostic poems about famous scientists for the new building and its grounds.
