Redpass
The Ramparts Business Park is a new development funded by Berwick upon Tweed Borough Council, Northumberland Strategic Partnership, ONE NorthEast and Government Office North East.
Charles Quick was selected to develop an artwork which would interact with businesses, workers and visitors to the site. The result is a light-based sculpture installed as eight lighting columns which plot a single line across the site. At set intervals, linked with the working lives of the surrounding businesses, the lights flash in a choreographed sequence designed to reflect the natural and man made rhythms of the business park.
